Take Your Own Measurements  -  Much of the information and photos on this page are taken from the Men's Wearhouse web site.   Click on this copy to go to the Men's Warehouse web site for more details and other handy hints on how to dress and building a good wardrobe.

Before you start, here is a handy suggestion.  Have a professional take your measurements.

Visit any Men's Wearhouse and a wardrobe consultant will gladly take and record your measurements, free of charge.  And don't be afraid to let them know that you are ordering a custom Santa Suit.  They will probably enjoy doing if for you.  And who knows, you might even get a booking from them!

However, if you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy, below you will find some tips on how to find your measurements on your own. Items with a * will require the help of a friend.

Before you start, print out a copy of the Santa Suit order form.  Once you have your measurements, use the information to fill in the spaces with your information.

*Coat Measurements

Neck:  (A)

  • Measure the circumference of the neck just above the base and around your Adam's apple.

  • Place two fingers between your neck and the tape measure.

  • The number of inches on the tape measure is your neck size.

Arm*:  (B)

  • Bend your arm slightly.

  • Start at the vertebrae in the center of the neck where the neck meets the shoulder. Run the measuring tape across the shoulder, down to the elbow, then to the break in the wrist.

  • The number of inches is your arm size.

Chest*:  (C)

  • Place the tape well up under your arms and over the shoulder blades in back, and the chest in front.

  • Look to make sure the tape is approximately horizontal to the ground.

  • Breathe normally, and have your friend insert a finger between the tape and your body to ensure enough ease.

  • The number of inches is your chest measurement.

Pant and Belt Measurements

Waist:  (D)

  • Measure around the belly button area or the broadest section of your belly.  Do not measure at your hip level or where you might normally have your belt line.  Measure above you belt line, as shown in the photo.  Most men seem to think that their waist is that area below the belly and let everything hang-out, over their belt.  We hope that is not you.  Measure around the broadest section of your belly!

  • The number of inches is your waist size.  We normally will make your pants and belt slightly larger to allow for comfort and weight changes.

Inseam*:  (E)

  • Take a pair of pants that fits you well (hint: without shoes on, your hem should just touch the floor).

  • Lay the pants out on a table and measure from the crotch seam to the cuff.

  • The number of inches is your inseam.  Please give us your full inseam measurements.  Do not make any adjustments for length, adding of fur, etc.  We will adjust the length of your Santa pants accordingly based on whether you order fur, or no fur, on your pant cuffs.

*Robe & Cloak Measurements

Over-Arm*:  (F)

  • With arms at your sides, measure around the broadest part of the shoulders and upper arms while keeping the tape measure level at all times.

  • Place two fingers between the tape and your body.

  • The number of inches is your over-arm measurement.

Robe Length*:  (G)

  • Start at the top of the shirt or jacket collar and measure all the way to the floor.

  • The number of inches is your robe/cloak Length. (This should be between 10 and 12 inches less than your total height.

Hat Size

Head:   (H)

  •  From the middle of the Forehead, measure around the broadest part of the head while keeping the tape measure level.
